Together with Aruba and Bonaire, it forms what's known as the ABCislands.Curaçao and neighboring islands off the northern coast of South America areusually considered to constitute the southwestern arc of the Lesser Antilles.The islands have a huge variety of wildlife, including flamingoes and fourspecies of sea turtle. There are three officiallanguages in Curaçao: Papiamentu, a local language (that is a mix of Portuguese,Dutch, Spanish, and English), as well as Dutch and English. Much of the varietyin Curaçao is a result of various colonial influences over the past severalcenturies. There is also a wide variety of colorful, artisan crafts on the island.
